Getting In Touch With Your MP? was created by article
As per above, and mentioned on the forum quite a bit can somebody explain why we should do this?.

Are we asking our local MP to look at our case on an individual basis eg, why Wrag and NOT Support or....... are we asking them for their backing in say trying to ammend the Welfare Bill as it goes through parliament?.

Please put me right here I thought the bill had already gone through the commons to the Lords and they are now adding the final touches before its sent back to the commons for approval???.

So how can getting in touch with your local MP at this stage make any change as to whats going to happen come april??.

Sorry if Im missing the point here burt surely its too late now for any one MP to do anything??.

Regards A.

I've been keeping my MP up-to-date with what is happening in my case, but also about what is happening to others. He has asked my permission to contact my local JCP and I really don't think he had much of a clue tbh about what was happening. I've also written to Cameron, Clegg, Duncan Smith, Grayling, Lord Freud, Baroness King etc. I believe we have to keep the pressure on and write to everyone about what is happening. Yes, it is being debated/tweaked and if we don't de-rail this time-bomb we will all be doomed.

Thanks to Ch$ and their news report about the system in meltdown.

hi TCP,

yes its great to see someone like yourself putting in all this commitment and its really appreciated but im wondering to myself " am I wasting my time at this stage".

Im sure Id read that their was a proposal to increase the 1 year on CB based ESA to 2 year but they threw it out in the Lords, so it looks to me like we are doomed.

Not only that but Im sure Frank Field the opposition Lab MP is fully behind the detail of the bill as it stands now, so what chance of anything being overturned?.

Im so sorry for being a killjoy but Im beginning to think its a lost cause, and hope Im wrong.

Anyone else with anything on this please?.

regards A.

I can't be defeatest, I'm afraid. The more the press and public are aware of what is happening, then that is all to the good. If we keep silent then they will walk all over us. Articles and news items telling the truth about what is going on, are really beginning to appear at a steady pace after all the drip-feeding by the press about fraudsters and scroungers etc. The more 'bad' publicity over these changes and what they mean to disabled and long-term sick and the Govt will HAVE to do a U turn. As was stated on Ch4 news, they had inherited this welfare shake-up from Labour, but they could have said 'Stop!' at any time. People power. Don't stay silent!

Hi TCP again,

Is their any online petitions like the ones weve seen on other subjects where I think they have to get 100,000 signatures for a debate in parliament? doing the rounds??.

Ive got the link from this site to send an e- mail to my MP but firstly Im not sure how to appraoch this, ie, my personal problem or a complaint about how we are being treated like dogs in general as a group.

The problem as I see it is that other people a lot of people in fact are losing their jobs etc a etc in the current economic woes and that we are bottom of the pile.

Hi A

If you're not sure how to approach your MP in writing, you could ask if they hold a surgery, for face to face help.

Ongoing petitions might be found through this link -
