Enhanced disability premium. was created by Robbie
Can someone please help me.

In order to receive the enhanced premium and you are on ESA(cb) with HRM and HRC,can you still apply even if you contribution based or is it purely for income related.

If not, how do you apply,I just want to do things right and not bring unwanted attention to myself.

My attention span is not good and I cant trawl through all the good links on the left.

Thanks.

Robbie.

Hi R see here re : premiums because of HRC DLA :

www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/Fina...AndSupport/DG_068683

You may be entitled to an IR ESA Top-up, depending on your weekly income, savings and assets etc.

Just as claimants who were in receipt of Con IB may get an Income Support top-up, because of their entitlement to the premium.

What entitlement to the premium basically does is raises the amount of income that the DWP deem that you need weekly, under the Minimum Disabilty Income Guarantee.

Entitlement to an IR ESA top up may also passport a claimant to free prescriptions, HB and CTB etc.

You should send copy of your HRC DLA award letter to the office dealing with your ESA if you wish to see whether you are entitled to a IR ESA top-up.

Hi R,

Someone who offers you care may be entitled to Carers Allowance :

See here :

www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits...rsomeone/DG_10012547

Or a carer premium, see here :

www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits...rsomeone/DG_10012529

Claiming Carers Allowance, or being entitled to a "Carer Premium" is not a straightforward issue, and it may be advisable to seek advice on this issue.
