Tribunal today was created by nicurro
Hi all. i have my DLA tribunal today and wondered if anyone could tell me what questions will i be asked.
I suffer with chronic back pain , leg pain.
I am taking a representative of DIAL with me.
I am in severe discomfort everyday which causes me problems daily.

Also , can i just wear comfortable clothes & footwear or do i need to go in shirt & tie , trousers etc.
I ask this because wearing trousers or jeans makes the pain worse as i require a belt with these.
Anything putting pressure on my back makes it worse.

Thanks

Hi Rob

It would appear from your post that your are being represented at tribunal by DIAL. Your representative will be in the best position to help you with your appeal and answer any questions the panel will put to you.

I expect you have already had a discussion with your representative regarding the questions the panel might ask you.

Althought the panel are free to put any questions directly to you, your representative will assist you with these.

Hope all goes well.

Michael

Please refer to page 21 et seq in the guide entitled "The Best Possible Support For Clients With DLA and AA Appeals" which may provide answers to your questions, in the DLA resources.

Hi all, just to update you , when i went to the Tribunal i was refused any increase in DLA , this upset me greatly but thought maybe next time as i had another claim ongoing.
Then about two weeks after the tribunal i received a letter from DLA , this i thought was further bad news but as i read it my worry turned to delight as they had finally decided to give me the Highest rate for both care & mobillity.
Why this happened i am none the wiser but i suspect that the DLA representative at the Tribunal saw how bad i was and reported it back to the decision makers.
I was also awarded them backdated for three months which lifted my financial burden and enabled me to sort my mortgage out which was nearly at the point of no return.

So don't give up on this benefit if you keep getting refused , i had been refused at least 5 times in the past two years but i kept on going and now receive what i knew i was entitled to.

Good luck to everyone who have open claims and remember dont give up no matter how many times you get refused.
