Do atos and the dwp call from the same number?

The dwp have my land line phone number. I'm not intending to answer any calls from them or atos. I sent in my form a couple of weeks ago - and actually put my MHP's no. on my esa50 for them to ring as she will be going with me to any medical. I didn't put my number on the form at all but it's not like they won't be able to get it from the dwp.

As we know requests like calling someone else aren't always carried out I have turned the ringer and ansaphone off on my telephone but get caller display so will be to check for any numbers that have called me.

I was wondering if atos will be a different number from the dwp or the same?

Just so I that if I do get some calls I will know whether I should be expecting a letter from atos with a date for a medical or a brown envelope from the dwp.

Thanks.

Atos will use a different telephone number to that of the DWP, as they are responsible for carrying out the work capability assessment.

Any initial correspondence will come from Atos regarding the medical assessment, but the actual decision letter about your ESA entitlement will be sent by the DWP in the dreaded brown envelope! :(

Just to let you know when the DWP have rung me over the last couple of months my caller display has shown the number 'withheld'. I haven't been called by Atos so I don't know if they do the same.

In the future the DWP may ring you even if you have specifically asked them not to, and they have acknowledged that you have specifically asked them not to (as has happened to a friend of mine recently.)

I got a 'withheld number' listed on my caller display earlier today.

Could be someone trying to sell something. Might be the DWP!

Did feel panicky. Calmed down a bit now.

Anyway if it is the DWP hopefully they'll just send a letter.

Do you know if they send them first or second class? I really don't want to get an atos or dwp letter on Saturday! Hopefully even if they do send them first class it might take a bit longer than usual because of the Xmas post. I'd rather get a letter sometime next week than just before Xmas.

I would want to appeal if I get put in wrag. And curl up in a ball if I get called for a medical. (I am IB transfer).
