Sent Off My ESA50 Form was created by KeithW
Hi All,

Well today I sent of my EAS50 form, by recorded delivery.

How long is it likely to take before thye tell me to sod off the result?

My wife who is my main carer also gave me a letter to submit with my form, my GP however said it is the practice policy to only respond to official requests form information in cases such as this and they could not provide me with supporting evidence etc, before hand.

I have to say I was a bit miffed they did not give a little extra time for me to fill my form in as I didn't get it until the 5th December and they want it back by the 3rd January - It seems they have totally failed to take into account the holiday period and the fact that most people will not be working including themselves and the post office.

I have to say I felt under great pressure to complete the form and get it off ASAP because of the above.

I am no sitting here dreading the outcome and am worried sick about what I am going to do if they tell me to go back to work.

all of this is really starting to affect me badly and I am starting to think that my wife and daughter would be better off without me around.

Thanks for reading.

Take care,

Keith

If only we could supply an answer. See the following FAQ.

How long until they make a decision?

Hi Keith,

I had a similar experience with a GP recently, at the first appointment she refused even though I asked three times if she would please write without a specific request.

I asked the DWP to formally request information and they said they couldn't so I wrote a very polite letter to the GP explaining that my friend (who I was supporting with getting evidence) was between a rock and a hard place and very briefly describing what difficulties not getting a letter would present.

We went to see the GP the next week and she offered before we asked.

I can't say yours will be so accommodating, but it may be worth a try.

All the very best!
