PHONE CALL ABOUT EA was created by lily321
Hi
I just got a phone call about esa, she asked me some questions, which I answered as honestly as I could and she said I will probably be put in the support group, but will get a form to fill out within 2 weeks.
Not sure if I should have answered the call, anyway it was too late when she said where she was from. Any way I have nothing to hide and she was a very nice lady.
My question is on this forum before people have been told they don't have to answer the call, why, what's the harm in it ?,.

There are lot's of reasons why an individual may be uncomfortable answering a telephone call from the DWP.

First, unless you take notes or record the conversation, there may be no record of what is discussed and therefore no way to refer back to it.

You may, due to a misunderstanding, state something that is detrimental to your claim.

You may agree to something without realising the consequences of doing so.

You may believe you have discharged a responsibilty when you haven't.

etc, etc, etc.

Hi Gordon
I was only being honest, said I would love to work if I could, but can hardley walk or do very much for that matter.
Surely I can't be penalised for my honesty.
I am rather worried now, but she did say it sounds like I would be put in the support group and they would probably not even call me for a medical. I will use this forum to help with my form.
thanks Gordon.
Lily.

It sounds like you are being transferred from IB or another benefit to ESA, and that the call you received is part of this process. See

The Transfer Process

I don't think you need to worry as the person would just be employed to make the calls each day, they have nothing to do with the decision process, so you should ignore their comments about the Support Group and the medical.
