My partner and myself get both rent and c/tax benefits and on the guaranteed one, but as with many things it brings into context personal savings and the like, and I would consider the son now earning, albeit not a lot, will count.I am myself now counting down the days for my tribunal for DLA, and as per the norm things seem to go pear-shape ...as I said before Jack, there is probably a Benefits Team in you local council that will help you. Opps, cant remember what I said now. but we are on the guarantee pension credits.

It has been my experience that if your son starts working and earning then he is expected to contribute towards the council tax. However, if you are claiming DLA care component, then his earnings are disregarded.
You MUST tell the council all about the change in circumstances but remind them of the DLA or they might (will) forget about it.
