Happy new year to you all, mods and members :cheer:

Great to have the forum back in action, the last couple of weeks have been really difficult, as my ESA50 (from IB) is due in tomorrow. I've been frantically trying to complete all my answers and string everything together in time for the deadline, but with bad days far outnumbering good days, it has been a nailbiter. Thankfully, I was advised earlier last year that the migration could come at any time and so I've been compiling my answers and evidence slowly over the last few months, and I'd advise anyone with serious health issues to do the same as it has made all the difference since that horrid brown envelope came through the letterbox 6 weeks ago...

Well, everything has gone off by special delivery today, so I'm able to relax slightly now, although my nails will be considerably shorter as the coming days and weeks go by. I sent a complete copy of everything to the address of the processing centre that was on my initial letter announcing the migration, to be on the safe side, as well as the same to ATOS. What worries me is that, in endeavouring to state my case as comprehensively as possible, I've ended up with a hefty wedge of extra pages and supporting medical evidence. Is there such a thing as trying too hard in this game, to anyone's knowledge?! I know there's no guarantee that any of us will be taken seriously, but is there evidence of claimants being penalised for being too thorough? I suffer with paranoia anyway, so may just be worrying unduly, and I did mention to them that I've been writing evidence in anticipation for quite a while, but still - when I saw the weight and thickness of the pile, I felt a bit anxious that they might think I've overdone things.

Well, fingers crossed. It was all put together very thoughtfully to make it easy for whoever reads it to find their way around the material easily. Hope that helps. Will keep you all posted.

Oh - final quicky - did I do right sending the other copy to the processing centre and not my local JCP? Wasn't sure, and have wasted a lot of paper and postage and time if not

Hi PP,

Your ESA50 should have been returned to ATOS, by the deadline date given, to the ATOS address, that was sent with the ESA50.

Copy can also be sent to the DWP also, but as it is ATOS who do the medical assessments, and make any recommendations on an award to the DWP DM, it is important that they receive the ESA50.

Hi bro58, and thanks for responding :)

Probably didn't make it clear enough that I did indeed send a copy of everything to ATOS, as well as to the DWP. The only difference was that ATOS got the original pink & grey form, whereas the DWP only got a photocopy of the form. Everything else I sent them was identical and all put together in the same way. Oh, and I put a short covering note in with the copy I sent to the DWP, just to say I'd submitted it to them as well as ATOS for their convenience, or something like that.

And now the waiting game begins :S

Wish you lots of luck with your claim, as long as you gave as much info as possible on how your illnesses affect you day to day, and in regards to the descriptors, there is not much else you can do, as much info as possible gives them a clear picture on what is happening and how you are affected, that way you have the best chance possible on getting the right outcome. You have done everything possible, take care
