Hi G,

I'm afraid that failure to fill in and return the ESA50 form by the deadline that you would have been given in the accompanying letter, may result in the Decision Maker, giving a "fit for work" decision, and ESA payments may then cease.

See information on returning the ESA50 here :

How long do I have to complete the ESA50?

You can download and fill in the Pdf version of the ESA50 from here :
Use Of The Interactive PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

If you wish to put across any reasons for not returning the ESA50, it would be advisable to do so in writing, keep a copy, and post by recorded delivery.

It could be addressed to the ESA Decision Maker, at the address of the office that deals with your husband's ESA.

Make sure you include your husband's NI Number, DOB, and full name on any correspondence.

It may be advisable to obtain face to face advice also, see sources of advice here :

Where to get advice?

I am sorry, I cannot really make any valid comment regarding the situation with your son, other than to fill in any forms that they have sent you regarding this, and ensure that they are returned by any deadline given.

Keep copies of all correspondence, and try not to rely on anything said over the phone, alone.
