Work Programme was created by angelm
Whilst I have read the article about the New Work Programme, I am still unsure at what point attendance becomes MANDATORY ?
Briefly:
1.Transferred from longterm IB, had medical.
2.ESA denied - went to appeal, -won 18 Nov 2011.
Have now been sent 3 hour work Links mandatory appointment.Still have "FitNote" - unfit for work, referred back to consultant on 18th Jan 2012.(nextweek)
Have not had letter stating wrag group, or when from.
My main question is - if I am unfit to work ,how am I fit enough to attend the appointment?
Pleaase put this in the other section If I have asked it in the wrong one.
Thank you.

The following FAQs may be of interest.

Work Focussed Interviews

Work Programme

It is important to note, that as you are in receipt of ESA, you are not required to work or even to seek work, so your attending these appointments is not necessarily at odds with your Fit notes.

I must be thick! as I don't understand your reply.
Surely I am either fit enough to work, and could attend any interview, training etc, or I am not Fit at this moment in time as stated by my GP'S "FIT NOTE" And should not have to go to anything other than Medical appointments refered by my GP.

Hi angelm, the DWP now make a distinction between fit for work, fit for work-related activity, and unfit for either of those. If you've been placed in the WRAG then you're deemed fit for WFIs and possibly other work-related activities they offer.

Not in the government's kafka-esque world. You can have 'limited capabilities for work' but be deemed capable of 'work related activities'.
