DLA Claim Home Visit was created by mikesimms
I have made a DLA claim, and I understand its possible to have a doctor visit you, or someone from your local social office.

I am having major work carried out on my house (its owned by me and not the council) both upstairs and down stairs.

It will not be in a fit state for anyone to come in, and could be dangerous. My mum will be looking after me at hers.

What do I tell them if they ask for the visit, as its not possible. I dont care if I have to go and see them at there office or other, I hope you can see the situation.

Kind regards all

Mike

Hi MS,

I would write and inform them ASAP, exactly as you have explained it in your post.

It is better to do it now, rather than wait for an appointment to be made at your home, which would then have to be cancelled.

Ok I have not made myself clear, I dont even know if I will have a home visit, I am just thinking ahead.

I dont know when the work will start, as well as its friends doing it who are trying to fit it in around jobs for cost, so I dont have a date to tell them or anything.

I will just have to tell them strait, if the work does clash and they want to visit, they can see what will be going on.

Thank you
