A visit every year - whats that about was created by brokendown
Hi Folks

I am in need of some advice.
In July my employer decided he didn't want a person with a complex medical condition to be part of his team and so I lost my job. I was initially on Sickness Benefit and then in Sept 2007, my sickness benefit ceased and I had to apply for Income Support, it took 4 months to get it, 4 months with no income at all, at the same time I appealed for Incapacity Benefit. I Jan 2008 I had to go to meet with the guy at Job Centre Plus to see what was wrong with me and to see if he could help me back to work, I told him I lost my job because of my medical condition but it fell on deaf ears, eventually after numerous letters etc I had an appeal heard for IB in June 2008 and was awarded it. The Jan 2009 I was called for another interview at Job Centre Plus again to see what was wrong and how to get me back to work, the guy wasn't even listening to me and decided mine was a difficult case and should apply for DLA, I did apply but was turned down, it went to appeal and was turned down again. At the appeal I was told I was not old enough and not ill enough to get DLA. Anyway we get to Jan 2010 and guess what called again to Job Centre Plus, my yearly visit. This time I saw a woman who initially looked at me with disdain but after she heard my story she told me that I should get DLA and that I should not be called in every year, she was shocked that since July 2007, I had 3 visits to Job Centre Plus. Anyway I applied for DLA again and was refused but went to appeal again. In 2010 I completed 3 ATOS Forms and was asked to come to numerous appointments all a long way from me, all at an unsuitable time and whn I spoke to one of the Atos Doctors he told me my case was too complex for ATOS. In 2011 guess what my annual visit to Job Centre Plus, how can we get to back into work, I was diagnosed with epilepsy now so after my annual hour at Job Centre Plus, I went away being told I should keep trying for DLA. In October 2011 I was awared DLA both at lower rate but got it. Now we are in Jan 2012 guess what folks my annual date with Job Centre Plus and a form from ATOS to complete. So folks 2012 5 visits to Job Centre Plus since losing my Job in July 2007,numerous ATOS Forms to complete, reconsiderations, appeals. I feel so broken as I have now to complete a further form.
Is it usual for someone to be called in every year?
I also take care of my disabled husband and they are aware of that, he and I had had to go to Job Centre Plus in November to prove his disability and the fact I care for him.
Advice, help, support please as feel very broken.

Hi BD,

Can you please see my comments on excessively long posts, from the link to the post below :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=vie...id=10&id=78946#78949

Besides long posts making it difficult to check for inappropriate content, it also makes it most difficult to sift out the actual query.

Can you please specify what your query is, and we will do our best to help. :)

Hi BD,

As you have not reposted your question more concisely, if you are querying how often WFI's WRA takes place please see :

Work Focussed Interviews, (WFI’s)

Work Programme

If you also read our ESA Guides from here :

ESA Guides

Or our IB Guides from here :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants

And indeed all our FAQ's from here :

FAQ’s

Your query may be answered.

Hi BD,

I have merged your post with your previous thread.

Please don't post the same question on a different/new thread, as this can be confusing.

As well as the information from the previous links that I posted please see :

The Transfer Process

What will I be transferred to?

When will I be transferred?

Who will be transferred?

All available in our FAQ's that I directed you to.

The only people that are exempt from the IB to ESA Migration process, are those who reach State Pension Age by 6/4/14.

Claimants who are placed into the WRAG of ESA after assessment will be exempt from WFI's and WRA, if they are in receipt of Carers Allowance or the Carers Premium, this information is included in the WFI and Works Programme links that I previously provided.

Mod Edit : with respect to how often that you may be reviewed once in receipt of ESA please see :

How often will I be reviewed
