Frightening Time for DLA- PIP Disabled was created by ladymadonna
I have been following the debates in the House of Lords regarding Welfare Reform of DLA and was shocked last night when the government won by a slender 16 votes to go ahead with PIP to replace DLA without a trial period.

I have read the excellent pre-PIP guidance on this site, and am very worried under the new PIP points scoring system that MAY come into being, that because I walk with crutches and am NOT confined to a wheelchair all the time my HR Mobility will go.

There will be many thousands of disabled people effected who will be thrown off DLA -PIP altogether and I feel very let down by those in the Lords who voted with the government whilst not having the full facts about those who will potentially recieve no PIP at all, but who qualify for DLA.

It is a time bomb which is now ticking as I see thousands of disabled people become socially isolated and who will not be able to cope under the new scheme.

It won't matter a damn to the politicoes, the disabled will be "out of sight and out of mind".

It is a sad and worrying time for us all at the moment. It is scary what this government is doing to this countries most vulnerable people. I would encourage everyone to appeal any decision they get that they do not agree with. How reassessing everyone and all the appeals will save money is beyond me. They are all mad. Cameron and Clegg and the rest have no idea what it is like to live with a disability. I have been on many websites and forums regarding this and there are a lot of people worried and getting more and more depressed and peoples mental health declining that the NHS and other services will have to increase their services to deal with them. Another saving out the window. It amazes me how any of them ever passed any exams as they have not got a brain cell between them as none of them have any idea of money. Cutting benefits for the most vulnerable means other more expensive services will have to pick them up. Where is the savings? I am very worried and it is affecting my own mental health.

i agree with you. my daughter and i are fearing the worst and this comes on top of my daughters esa medical. I having the read who will loose out and the scoring sysytem i fear many people will also loose there high rate care also and be put to the standard care. also what do "they" call a simple meal? a simple meal to me is not a good one! and the bathe and groom. it does not make sence.

i think your right to be worried, i too get HR mobility due to severe sight impairment, PIP seems grossly unfair, so many will miss out,
the frontline services such as care workers etc are being cut right back, now they are taking money off those that need it to basically survive, if i get nothing at all from PIP then on basic money i won't be able to afford such things as phone/internet etc which means i won't be able to do online shopping which is the only way now i can manage, theres no other support available to help me, so like many more i will go without...lovely prospect isn't it!
