Just another update regarding my ongoing 're-assessment' for DLA which for the lat 15 years has not been an issue. Well, its been another 6 weeks since the DWP requested 'further information' from both my GP and authopedic surgeon regarding my condition after my recent fall in early December. Basically 2 things have happened. Firstly, my GP came to see me at home, and re-assured me she had sent a really good supportive letter to the DWP. Secondly,a few days ago,I was taken by ambulence on a strecher for my follow up appoinment with my Authorpedic surgeon. He has booked me in for an MRI scan and said he would 'take it from there' once the results are back.

Meanwhile, still no word for the DWP though, which to be honest is my greatest worry ? Its been over 2 months since my ATOS medical at home, although as he admitted, he couldent do a proper medical due to my condition after the fall which has left me bedbound and in cronic pain.

Should anyone really have to through all this ?

Sigh...

Golly gosh, how terrible, I have just read right back to the begining.
Spondolosis/oesteoarthrosis etc and a fall, very similiar to me. However I did not have the ops as I was informed that it could cause more probs and could cause worse degeneration and numbness.
What I am getting at really is, is there a cause to re evaluate the botched surgery and therefore a claim against the surgeons be it NHS or Private. I know more time more hassle, but on reading your topic I do believe this may be an avenue to explore. Time limit may be a problem but not nessessarily so.
Good luck

No Noodles no one should have to put up with it. But what do the DWP care? I'm just starting out on the right payment programme! My form was returned a week ago and obviously I haven't heard anything as of yet. When I received the form I phoned Warbeck House and was told very matter of factly " It's routine, randomly generated and takes about 6 weeks to hear back!"

I hope you hear soon as I've been going frantic after a week. Have you phoned DLA on 08457 123456?

I tried ringing that number. Finally managed to get through to the DLA dept in Blackpool. Got told all my data had arrived including my GPs support letter,I was also told it was now in the hand of someone called a 'decision maker' who I gather has the final say ?

Not sure I can take anymore really now,its 4 months since I sent the original DLA forms in,during that time my fall has all but wiped me out. Im on 20 mg Oxycodine tablets twice a day for the cronic pain, also on Amitriptoline now to calm me down and help me sleep. I can only hope common sense prevails now,and the right decision is finally made.

Good luck to you all.
