Hi Zippy

I too was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and sent to the rheumatologist who confirmed that i too had osteoarthritis, which affects me more in the damp or cold weather. After trying several tablets and butrans patches, which i developed an allergic reaction to, i have now been given an alternative called Zomorpth and pregabalin! so fingers crossed these will help to ease the pain. This weekend i have an appointment for a medical...and feel quite anxious! getting back to that rheumy person of yours, mine was the same, seemed like he could'nt wait to get me back into the sole care of my doctors!im quite lucky as my doctor is very supportive. Good luck to you, and chin up :)

Hi ZG,

Hi ZG

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in Oct 2008 although I'd been under investigation by different consultants since 2001.

I had been awarded DLA in 2003, and had it renewed twice after that. I also have osteoarthritis (and Osteoporosis) but I've had those problems much longer but never went to my GP about it.

Your DLA, if you get it is based on how you cope with your life day-by-day. As you can see I was awarded DLA before I had a diagnosis of anything.

It's not what you've got (or not got) but how it affects you!
