You may find the information on Fibromyalgia of help in the DWP's A-Z of Medical Conditions

Just click on F and choose Fibromyalgia, which then takes you to a link explaining about it.

Hope this is of help.

I have Fibromyalgia and I also have OsteoArthritis of the spine, fingers and hips.

I had broached the subject of Fibro with my then GP around 1998 but he kept saying it was a diagnosis of elimination.

The first doctor to suspect Fibro was actually an Oral/Max specialist I saw about problems with my jaw (TMJ is common in FM) and only when he mentioned it in his report did my GP send me to a Rheumatologist. I was subsequently diagnosed by the Rheumy - it took 5 years from first mentioning it. The OA diagnosis came a couple of years or so later.

I'm in receipt of HRM/HRC at the moment but heavens knows what will happen come transfer to PIP.

Hi

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2010, but had suffered with chronic pain since 2004. I take pregablin along with antidepressants. I recently won my case for ESA and now will apply for DLA. The best thing i done was complete a Pain Management Program last November, it helped a lot.
