Obtaining information after transfer to WRAG

The recent DWP letter which assigned me to the WRAG followed an Atos assessment. I should like to find out when the Atos professional thought I would be fit for work (ie the prognosis) and from that to have an idea of when I might receive another ESA50 or be referred to the Work Programme. This would remove some uncertainty. Previous Incapacity Benefit letters included a review date. Also I should like to know how many points I was given (for mental health issues) and how they were allocated.

If I wrote requesting the ESA85, the ESA113 (if one was requested from my GP) and a copy of any worksheet, score sheet or any similar document which sets out which descriptors the decision maker considered (rather than ask for ALL evidence) would that provide the information I seek? Would this be processed quicker than a letter with a formal ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998 or do you need a formal SAR for them to release any information?

By the way, to whom should I address the letter at the local Benefit Centre?

I am worried about getting all this right and obtaining the information I want as soon as possible.

Also if I send a SAR to the DWP would I have to wait a set time before I would be allowed to send another one to them on any matter?

The following FAQ explains what to ask for and the embedded link has a sample letter.

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

There is no wait time for SARs providing the requested information is different.

I have looked at the sample letter. So I definitely have to make a formal subject access request to ensure I receive the forms? Who would you advise I write to at the local benefit centre? The manager named at the bottom of ESA transfer letter?

Thank you.

Thank you.

You can make the request over the phone but members have had varying results in getting the documentation, so a formal request is better.

Yes, you should contact your local BDC, the address will be on the letters you have received regarding your ESA.
