Apologies if this has been covered before. I have used the search option but dont see other threads which directly relate to this.
My DLA medical is on Monday of next week. (This after I requested another DM to consider my claim after the claim was disallowed). I'm confused as to the nature of the examination as the ATOS letter states its purpose is...."not to diagnose OR discuss treatment of your medical condition". So far as I can tell from the letter, the purpose seems to be to..."look at how your medical condition affects you doing everyday activities". I thought I had explained this in some detail in my claim form!
My claim is almost completely based around being virtually unable to walk outdoors without severe discomfort. As such, I find it difficult to understand how this can be achieved by something that purports to be an examination during which the doctor and I (presumably) will be indoors at the time.
Are ATOS/DWP trying to catch me out in some way? I made it clear in my claim form that although I can walk outdoors without severe discomfort, that is the case for only a very short distance - 35/40 yards. I dont usually have much problem indoors purely because I dont walk about much and certainly never anything like 35/40 yards at a time.
I'd really appreciate any input or advice on this please. I'm concerned that ATOS/DWP are missing the point I've made in the claim.
