Concerned over time waiting was created by TrevorR
Hi

I sent my forms back to the DWP during the second week of December regarding my transfer from IB to ESA.

After reading the topic on 'How Long' I am starting to get concerned that it has now been just over 2 months.

Any ideas on what I should do or if this still could be within normal time scales?

Have you contacted the DWP office dealing with your claim, the phone number should be on any of the correspondance you have received in relation to it? They may be able to give you an update.

Mine is a new application rather than an IB to ESA transfer, so I don't know if that makes a difference. However, I have currently waited for 4 months and have heard nothing yet. I phoned up a couple of weeks ago and was told that my application was listed as still being in the 'to do' pile.

The waiting is rather anxiety provoking, isn't it?!

I am transfer from I.B to E.S.A The changeover phone call was 7 months ago.

Got the ESA50 after following advice on here and chasing DWP up for it. Sent the ESA50 form back mid December.

Informed January via a phone call that I was in the support group without the need for a medical, and that the change would be at the start of February.

Since then nothing, no change over, no letter. Phoned, and told that the phone call telling me I was in support group should never have happened because I am still in backlog. Nobody at the DWP will discuss my case any further,so I have went from elation to total despair. Almost 8 months!
The strict deadlines appear to work only one way!

I am afraid there is little advice we can give in this situation other than to keep checking back with the DWP for an update.

I am assuming you are still in receipt of your IB payments.

You can male a complaint with the DWP, see

Complaining to the DWP

and you might consider contacting your MP over the situation, see

Contacting your MP

Good luck

I filled out and sent in the ESA50 on transfer from IB, in July last year and I had the decision call/letter in the first week of October.
