esa wrag group

Hi,

Am I right on thinking that the changes that you can only get the wrag group element for a year which was going to be voted on in April already been passed. Has this been voted in already as a disability web site, another site separate to this seems to think it has? If its been voted in has it been extended to two years?

I sent a appeal letter in as i think i should of been in the support group instead of the wrag group its been 4 weeks today and i still have not heard anything or have a letter confirming my appeal any idea if they contact you by sending you a letter saying we have received your letter of appeal and will be in touch or anything like that or do you just twiddle your thumbs and hope that they got your appeal letter i sent the letter by recoded delivery and know they have definitely got it as i checked royal mail and advice many thanks for all your good work.

Concerning your appeal, when you send your GL24 notice of appeal they should reply to acknowledge receipt of it, usually within a week. It's always a good idea to phone to confirm that they have received it, but you have sent it recorded delivery so at least you have proof that it was sent.

In answer to your first question, the limit of the amount of time that people in the Work Related Activity Group can receive contribution-based ESA to 365 days, has been enacted into law and will be implemented from 23 April 2012. See:-
