2 questions` ESA

1. Regarding ESA if you beleive you have a case for being in the Support Group is it appropriate to ensure they send a form to your gp prior to or around the time of migration ? And is it unlikely that without positive support from the GP or other involved clinician that one could enter the SG

2 Is the experience of other forum users that they are behind on migration.. ie. likely to exceed the date on the IB review
or otherwise take ages deciding about the result of the ESA50 form ?

1. The DWP may send an ESA113 to your G.P. to help them make a decision regarding your qualification for ESA in WRAG or SG, See ESA113, here :

However, you cannot compel the DWP to send an ESA113 to your G.P.

It may be prudent therefore to discuss your migration with your G.P. before the process begins.

You will then be aware of how supportive your G.P. is, and also have the opportunity to discuss the possibility of a letter of support, and how he would respond to the questions on the ESA113, if issued.

If you received an adverse decision as a result of the ESA WCA, you could of course query why an ESA113 was not issued, if that was the case.

2. Taking into account the members comments on our forum, and posts on other forums, the DWP do seem to be somewhat "gridlocked" in the migration process.

They are supposed to be migrating claimants at a rate of around 11,000 per week at the moment, as well as dealing with fresh ESA claims.

That is most helpful thank you. I suppose the asking them to send an ESA 113 in advance of the migration date could mean the case is prompted and gets dealt with possibly weeks or months earlier than if no prompt was given. On the other hand, better to tgry for the SG early if the GP appears supportive in the case that there is a good argument for the SG
