Hello,
Received a letter today from the DWP to say that they have arranged a local service visit to "discuss the recent changes to the benefits that you have been receiving". I was successfully migrated from IB to ESA support group late last year, but before the migration the Job centre wrote to me to say that I had been ovepaid IB because they had no record of me informing them that I had started to receive an occupational pension. Not only did I write to them, but my former employers also answered a letter from them advising when my pension was awarded under ill health grounds. Is it likely that this visit to do with that, and how long am I likely to be given to repay if they refuse to accept my proof. The overpayment spans several years. Has anyone been in this position?

The Pension and Disability Carer Service deal with DLA, so it would seem unlikely that it is at matter, you should get face to face advice, if you can show that the error is on the part of the DWP, then there should be no need to repay the overpayment.

Where to get advice?

I was wondering if there has been anymore news on Pension and Disability Carers Service home visits as I have just today received a letter that I am to have a home visit next week to 'discuss recent changes to my benefits'. I am currently undergoing the IB to ESA process and as yet received no result to this after almost 6 weeks after the ESA50 was returned. Any news about the home visit purpose would be good thanks.

The person that visited was lovely, mine was to do with an overpayment of benefit. The person was very helpful and said I mustn't panic and that the dwp would work with me to reach an affordable repayment plan. Said that I could appeal if I felt that I had grounds to do so. Offered to return to look at whether I was entitled to any additional benefits. I was relieved that they were so helpful. Hope this helps. You can ring them to ask what it's about if you want a heads up .
