We don't advise on JSA, if you need a definitive answer then you will need to get advice from your local CAB or Welfare Rights office, however, a quick look at the relevant chapter of the Decision Makers Guide would suggest that your view is incorrect, although this may be for different reasons than you have put forward.

Not that I know anything about any of this but.............if ESA (cb) is exhausted then a move to ESA (ir) is made, if a partner is working and earning a fair salary, does this mean the claimant for ESA(ir) gets nothing??
Having a health problem that prohibits or restricts work means that JSA wouldnt be an alternative as has already been mentioned.

Assets, or to give it its correct term, capital, is a broad subject, there is a single DMG chapter on this with close to 3000 paragraphs.

However, your house, provided you are living in it, is not counted as capital.

Unfortunately RR, if you can't pass the "Means Test", for IR ESA, then your ESA payments would cease, see :

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

Asset rule for ESA(IR)

Hi
Worried about same thing, hubby works long and hard. In answer to your statement, yes we will be dumped, offloaded, lower figures etc. Its dickensian.
I vaguely remember being told by dc that the sick and disabled would be looked after. Its a joke. Incidentaly my jobcentre told me that an application for js when esa runs out would be treated as fraudulent cos im not fit to work. I think theyd actually prefer me to shuffle off this mortal coil.
All the best
