False Sense of Security ESA Support Group

I attended my Atos WCA in November last year, I received my decision that I had been placed in the support group in February this year. I now have just received another ESA50 sent from Atos to fill in.

I did expect that at some point I would be reaccessed, but not within a month of the decision letter. Has anyone else encountered this so soon after been awarded ESA Support Group? Looking at your FAQ it dose seem quick to be called for reassessment.

Any general advise would be helpful, many thanks.

Gosh, that is quick! Did you ask for a copy of the paperwork associated with your claim? That should have given you an idea when to expect re-assessment.

Mrs Hurtyback, No sadly I didn't see the need to request the paper work because I had been placed in the support group and thought at least I would have six months or more. With the stress of waiting for the decision I felt some sense of relief, foolish as this was.

Am I still able to request this information even after a month from the DWP decision?

Thanks.

Hi GB,

As MHB says that does seem rather quick, even though they sometimes start the re-assessment process some weeks before the current award ends to allow for return of ESA50 etc, etc.

The shortest award is 3 months, it may well be worth requesting your ESA85 medical report from your face to face assessment in November.

See :

ESA Forms

&

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

The recomended length of your SG award, (prognosis) from then, should be in the report.

You could phone the DWP to check that there has not been an error in issuing this recent ESA50.

However, unless informed otherwise in writing, you should fill it in and return it by the deadline given.

Good luck.

Hi GB,

You may wish to consider using the Interactive Pdf version of the ESA50 this time, it leaves you with an exact copy on your PC, and is easier to edit and save at your own pace. See :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

ESA50 too big for the envelope

How long do I have to complete the ESA50?

How often will I be reviewed

As re-assessments are ongoing using this version may be of benefit.

Thanks bro58 for the above advice. I will compose myself and give the DWP a call and will use the PDF this time for future use.
