Sorry if I shouldn't be butting in on someone else's query, but this is still on the same topic.

Does any pension earned by a husband, wife or civil partner count?

It only applies to a pension being received by the claimant, a partners income is not relevant to an ESA(CB) claim.

If the pension was not disregarded under IB then it will not be disregarded under ESA.

If not disregarded, then the standard £85/w disregard followed by £1/w deduction for every £2/w of pension in excess, applies.

For ESA(IR) there is no disregard, irrelevant of whether this was the case under IB, and any income from a partner will be included.
