ESA (CB) was created by Gallagher
My partner was placed in the WRAG ESA (CB) and has been stopped as it is in excess of 12mths.

Can we apply retropsectively to have him re assessed for the support group?

If not what options are available?

You cannot put in an appeal at this stage. However if there has been a change of circumstances, in that your partner's condition has deteriorated to the degree that he now meets the support group criteria, then you can apply for a 'supersession' (reassessment). If you do this, the onus will be on you to provide evidence to support your claim.

Hi Mrs Hurtyback,

Just a question for you what happens after 1 year in WRAG group if you live alone and there is no other source of income in the household, are you reassessed on a yearly basis, i,m a bit concerned i,m in the process of being transferred from long term IB to ESA , iv,e not heard yet about a medical assessment, but i,m expecting to be put in Wrag at the very least, i live alone and have not got any other income apart from my IB at the moment.

Hi Chrissy, if you live alone and have no other income your claim should then continue on an income bases basis. You should expect to be reassessed, this varies from case to case and the time-frame ranges from 3 months to 3 years. If you have been on IB for some time, one would hope that you would get rather more than 3 months before reassessment! If you get, from DWP, the paperwork associated with your claim, the 'prognosis' should give you some idea of when to expect reassessment.

3 months to 3 years is a huge difference and may also depend on the subjectivity of the DM/ATOS person evaluating you.
I have been ob 1B for 14 yrs, now gone thru the system for ESA and following a re assessment placed in the SG. Verbally informed it is for 6 mnths by one and 3 mnths by another. Have asked 4 times for copy of confirmation letter/ statement of reasons/ descision/score sheet and by my CAB representative and guess what ,, still waiting to hear, 5 weeks down the line.
As this is your only income IB I should imagine IR ESA will be automatic.
