DLA, ESA, doing it by the book. was created by Tilly
Hello all. I dont really have a question. I have been a member here for a few months now and have folowed all the advice from B&W re my DLA and ESA applications. I didn't get DLA and have appealed. I am waiting to hear about ESA. I lost my job last year and have a chronic, incurable condition and I just wanted to thank B&W for this great resource. Many thanks guys. Tilly :)

Thanks Gordon. I did that and have been very thorough. I think the problem is that they did not request information from my consultant as I had requested. I tol them to seek info from my consultant as my consultant is far better placed rhan my GP to inform them. They did the opposite, hey ho - then they went on to claim they didn't receive my appeal despite me having the evidence from the post office that they did etc etc etc. Also, they have not responded to my request for info under the blah blah act (lost the words due to cognitive dysfunction)within 40 days as they should. Phew!

I'm in no way excusing the DWP for their poor performance, but the fact is that they are overloaded at the moment and even simple procedures are falling by the wayside.

Of course no one could forsee this happening when they started the transfer of IB, SDA and IS clamaints to ESA.

Please see the welfare rights site which has a copy of the new revue/statistical analysis taken on IB/SDA/IS/ to ESA claims. Makes interesting reading

When you say 'welfare right site' do you mean 'Rightsnet'?
