Appeal queries was created by bumbledore
Hi all, I just have a couple more points that I would like to be clear on before sending off my GL24 appeals form.
I wish to claim ESA at the assessment phase whilst appealing, but on the letter they sent me they are vague about when to send in a sick note (which I already have), so do I send it with the form, or wait until they request it? If I have to wait until they request it, I am worried that I will have a gap with no money coming in.
And in the "Reasons" box on the form, should I tell them everything, as there are quite a few points on which I believe their decision is wrong, and I have prepared quite an extensive reply on these points, or do I need to keep it brief here, and keep all the details for a later stage? I was thinking that I should include the whole thing, as you never know, they may just overturn the decision on the strength on this alone (plus I don't relish the idea of speaking at a tribunal hearing). Also, would it help, hinder, or be pointless to point out on the form which desriptors I feel I should have been awarded points for, and maybe even how many points I feel I should have got for each of these?
Thanks

Send the Fit Note with the GL24 and don't forget to send further ones as required, you should be able to get your GP to issue them in advance, at least by a week.

I would keep your comments on the GL24, short and precise, but this does not mean that you cannot attach additional sheets, make sure you include your name and NIN on each one, that explain why you are appealing in more detail.

If you believe you meet specific criteria, then there is no reason why you shoul not direct the Decision Maker to these descriptors.

Good luck

Sorry to 'piggyback' on someone else's thread - but this seems a good place to ask my question!

DWP kindly sent me my ESA85 rather than statement of reasons. I want to refer to certain parts of the ESA85, should I send in a copy of the relevant parts with my GL24, or will it be enough to quote the page number?

Mrs H et al

I would always include a copy of the source material, or at least the relevant section.

Remember, everything you send to the DWP might end up being forwarded on to the Tribunal panel, who will not have access to the original material, so you are avoiding potential confusion by providing both components.

Make sure all documents are clearly labelled, include your name and NIM, and where possible, have an easy to use reference.
