Hi Mrs Hurtyback, thank you for your quick response, i would like to know if they take being in constant pain into consideration as you and i both know how debilitating it can be, also some years ago i saw a private gp who said he thought my failed back surgery was due to a condition called Arachnoiditis, a condition not many surgeons will admit exists, and also i had a fenestration done on my spine (a window effect) so my spinal nerves trap and untrap on a regular basis. i have sent all the medical evidence but i,m afraid i really don,t think they are qualified enough to pass judgement in some cases which are,nt the norm.

As I understand it, they are supposed to ignore anything that you can do if you are in severe discomfort whilst doing it. In your case, that means just about everything! Of course, the difficult thing is getting ATOS/DWP to aknowledge this...

My assessment was done by a nurse but I have no complaint about the way I was treated. I was sent a copy of the medical report (rather than the statement of reasons that I asked for) it reflected pretty accurately what was said and done during the assessment - apart from the crucial aspect of my walking distance!

Hi Mrs Hurtyback, thanks again for you reply, so i,m guessing that the walking distance is the reason for your appeal ?

I have a family member who is employed by Atos and it has made this whole process worse as there are things iv,e been told that i cannot put on the forum for obvious reasons, i think this whole new way of assessing sick/disabled people is wrong and totally unfair, and makes a mockery of the ols type of medical assessments that used to be.
I am in a right state today iv,e had no sleep can,t stop crying and i just can,t wait for the assessment to be over.

Have you spoken to your doctor about how distressed this is making you?
