esa and dla was created by pjd
Hi there,

I was just wondering if there has been many cases where dla has been stopped as a result of unsuccessfully claiming esa?

Thanks.

It's not common, but we have had members lose their then current DLA award, following a re-assessment triggered by a failed ESA claim.

Hi gordon, thanks for the reply.

I was awarded high dla mobility indefinately just over a year ago, and I know some people have included their dla award details when filling out the esa form. Do you think it is a good idea to do so or does it not matter either way? Also if you are put in the WRAG group, does that have any effect on dla? Thanks.

I would always consider the evidence that you present to either the DWP or a Tribunal, just because it is available, does not mean that it is relevant or to your advantage.

There are limited overlaps between the DLA descriptors and the ESA ones, primarily mobility and continence, so if these are areas that are relevant to your ESA claim, then using a resonably new DLA award as evidence should be to your advantage.

Being placed in the WRAG should not have any affect on your DLA.
