DLA Home Assessment was created by Gentle Spirit
Hi Ive never posted before so apologises if I do it incorrectly. A 'Dr' called to arrange a home assessment next friday for my DLA he was quite sharp with me when I said I would have to check with my cpn as I wanted her to be there.I am wary of people calling me and would prefer it in writing. He said I have a week to find out and was unhappy when I said I want it recorded. What do I do as I am now worried sick. I have Fibromyalgia and ME.

Although Atos Medical Service doctors frequently spring a medical on a claimant at short notice by telephone, legally you are entitled to at least 7 days notice of a visit in writing.

My fear is that I have to phone the 'Dr' back on monday as my CPN cant be with me on the day he wants to come and assess me. Ive had nothing in writing regarding this assessment just a phonecall this afternoon and both ATOS and the DWP terrify me!!

Can anyone phone on your behalf? You may need to be present in order to authorise the call.

I did say to the 'Dr' that the visit would have to fit in with my CPN but he just snapped at me that I had a week to sort it out. He got really snappy when I said I would like it recorded the same as for ESA, his reply was that this was DLA and it didnt apply. He also was very unhappy when I said as far as I knew he could be anyone just calling me as he only gave me a mobile number to call him back on. I really do not wish to discuss this over the telephone.
