help panicking

i recieved letter dated 24 april,informing my partner has been put in wrag group,we genuinly didnt receive the letter until 21 april,our post gets mixed up with person with same name on our road.
i rang up the dwp on 23 april & told them this, they seemed fine,informed them would be appealing decision & could they send me GL24,also requested medical report and descion makers report.sent GL24 on the 1 may, with letter acompaning it,that i could not go any furthur with my case until i recieve info requested.recieved medical report last week, still waiting for decision makers report.Recieved letter this morning asking why he wants an extention to the time he can make an appeal & reason he wants to appeal.i thought once you informed dwp of your decision to appeal,you had another 2 weeks if waiting for further info.
so confused, welfare officer not reponding.

Please will you confirm the date on the letter? I am guessing that you meant March rather than April?

Whilst it is accepted wisdom that requesting the Statement of Reasons extends the time in which to submit the appeal by 2 weeks, we have never recommended relying on this. Good luck with getting the SOR, by the way, many of us are having problems with this!
