Hi,

Without knowing your brothers full circumstances, including what type of benefits he receives, it is impossible to say both why he is getting these calls and what options he has.

He really needs to obtain the full facts then obtain some face to face advice from a welfare rights adviser/CAB and possibly a qualified independent financial adviser before making any decisions. Trying to obtain such advice over an internet forum is not recommended as any advice would be pure guesswork.

Iv,e not heard of it, but if they offered me an early pension i,d take it in an instant, i,m almost 59, at least i would,nt be any worse off moneywise, and i,d be in a lot less stress.

But whats that got to do with DLA, as you still get that once you have retired. I thought they said those nearing retirement age or on retirement would not be pressed for PIP, so therefore I would have thought going on early retirement if paid by company or the state pension would be beneficial. At least you would not be also pressed for ESA50 etc and going on wrag/sg or basic esa. Then you would not need to go for wfi's and appeals etc. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick again!!

People up to the age of 65 will be transferred to DLA, irrespective of whether, or not, they have retired.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
