help with appealing dla was created by Sickofbeingsick
I need to appeal to a dla claim, ive just got a letter to say i have been refused any element of it, although my doctors report backs me up, i do not know where to start with an apeal or what to do next and feel to ill to do it myself, i joined here last night but find it all very mind boggling. ive spent the last 2 days researching the internet but its seems a massive battle to deal with it almost seems that the dla atos etc deliberately refusing claims with no good reason and even to the point of dishonesty so people will give up which i feel like doing now, but i know i should be entitled top some element as i have severe fibromyalgia, spondylosis of cervical and lumbar, asthma, anxiety and depression and daily migraines and more stuff going on. I struggle to do anything for myself as i am in severe pain daily, i canit bend an inch without excrutiating pain. i have tried ringing a few citizens advice offices but they always engaged and can't get to speak to anyone. is there specialised companies that can deal with it for me for free of on
a commision basis.
any help would be appreciated.
kind regards

Welcome to the site. You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

With regard to getting face to face advice, see

Where to get advice?

In terms of lodging an appeal, see

How long do I have to appeal?

How to submit an appeal

In general terms I would recommend you look at two areas, first, have a look at our DLA Appeal guide.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#dlaappeals

Then have a look at our DLA Claim guides

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#dlaclaims

The latter will allow you to consider whether you made the best of your original claim, and where there were deficiencies, allow you to correct them.

If you have any specific questions, please come back to the forum.
