I have been On DLA for a number of years, i lost my husband 18 months ago, am now on income support also, and have found it tough being on my own all the time.

I phoned pathways to work for an interview because i wanted to try and do something for myself, they are leaving it for me to decide wither i want to go on the course or not. I told them that my condition hasn't changed but my life has. I know some of you might think me a bit silly for doing this but i feel i need to do something. I was thinking about starting my own business in portraits?
I do have difficulty with mobility, I get the high on mobility and care.
The course is condition management program, were they bring occupational therapist; physiotherapist, clinical psychologist to help me.
The interview was easy, but i am worried that if i go ahead i might end up loosing my DLA which i need mostly for getting around. Does anyone here know how it all works? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I only have until next week to let them know. many thanks in advance. Jo

Do you think it likely that a 'condition management program' would significantly alter your mobility and care needs?

Just to add my two penneth worth. I don't think you're stupid at all. Days are long and boring most of the time and I appericiate how you feel. I'd imagine, although a much more experienced moderator will know better, that a return to work may signal a review of your situation. Especially as you receive HRC although, of course, DLA is not an out of work benefit!

At this stage the OP is considering a 'Condition management program' rather than a return to work.

I assumed that a condition management programme would be the first step to returning to work, on a pathway to work course, Mrs H
