PIP query

Hi,

I have been given DLA for the next five years. I have read that the PIP benefit comes into play in 2013. Will I be assessed by interview automatically, and if so, can this new PIP system overrule my DLA award for five years. Do they assess paperwork first before selecting people for face to face assessment like ESA or is it by interview only regardless of supporting evidence. I ask because I have a mental illness and an interview alone would not reflect my difficulties. I am in the ESA support group. If after a PIP assessment they stopped my benefit, do I have a right to appeal and will I be paid while appealing.
