I know your not supposed to ask for individual advice but wondered what other mebers felt ?
Firstly I would like to thank B& W site I have just passed my medical but put in the WRAG group after a 55 minute medical but I ‘m thinking of appealing Ive sent of for the written statement of the decision 8 days ago to see on what grounds ive passed & see what they’ve missed & they haven’t sent me a form .more worringly I was at MIND the other day when a jobcentre plus person was there toi talk us through the benifts system she said “people can’t appeal “ maybe withholding the appeal forms is there way of doing it but she wouldn’t elaborate on why .I’ve heard the critera for the support group is “sever & enduring “Ive suffered with severe anxiety & depression since 1986 after I was attached by a gang of people near a football match I was stabbed 4 times & was beat about the head with planks of wood & had bricks thrown on my head .I have also been attacked twice since then once with a crowbar & left for dead so my natural reaction around people I don’t know ids one of anxiety & mistrust .these days I’m still quite placid but if put in a situation with people I don’t know & I fel threatened or vulnerable I may react in a negative manner as I feel I’m fighting for my life … I wake up everyday anxious & can’t leave the flat or do any thing till the anxiety as subsided .one of the best ways ive found is not eating till it does but that makes me more depressed & have little energy to much else .i also have other health issues I only have half a stomach now which makes eating difficult any way due to having a limited diet plus amounts which also affects how much I can do .There are also loads of minor complexities insomnia etc that all have a knock on effect but to much to write down here

Hi,

As you are aware we cannot answer claim specific enquiries.

However with regards to your query about the DWP withholding Appeal forms, I have not heard of or come across this. Plus there would be little point as the forms are available to download from here:

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/gl24dwp.pdf

Until such time as you receive the details of your claim, there is really not much you can do, however do not delay putting in your appeal pending receipt of your paperwork.

Pete

I meant withholding the written statement of the decision so you can't appeal

Don't delay in getting your appeal request in on time. You don't need to be specific at this stage, you can say that will will provide more details when you have been furnished with the relevant paperwork. There ia a sample letter in the appeals guide

How to submit an appeal

However, you do need to feel sure that your ESa award is safe, there is a risk that you could lose it totally

Is there any risk in challenging a decision?

I note the phrase "there's a problem with acrobat," in your post.

This means that the software which reads all those documents whose name ends with ".pdf" is in some way damaged.

If you are a confident user, or if someone in your house can help you, then the best course of action is to uninstall any existing copies of acrobat, and then download and install a new version.

Otherwise you can try the following.

1) Make a system restore point (use Windows' own Help system to tell you how to do this.)

2) Download a new version of Acrobat - I recommend against using the official site, because you have to be careful not to end up installing some extra anti-virus software, which might interfere with what you already have installed.

I suggest that you go to ninite.com (note there is no "www" in that address) where you can get an installation package which will download the free version of this program, remove any extra bits packaged in and install the program for you.

On the ninite site, scroll down the page and find the name of "Acrobat" in the "Documents" section and put a tick against it but not against any other program. Download installer using the green button at the bottom of the page. Save that to somewhere you can find it (e.g. your desktop or your downloads folder)

3) Double-click on the name of the ninite installer which you have just downloaded and saved to run it immediately.

It will install the latest Acrobat on your system. Acrobat should then run properly. If it does not, then you will need further help (probably uninstalling all previous versions of Acrobat - this is usually the problem) and should visit an IT help site.

Sorry this is long, but abbreviating this sort of instruction is usually a disaster.
