could i ask is esa the same as dla in repect to you dont have to be getting the care or supervision you need, but you can just need it to be successful with claim,many thanks.

Hi,

It is somewhat more complex than that. In effect DLA looks at ones care/mobility needs - whether or not they actually get the help is irrelevant as long as the help is reasonably required.

ESA looks at a series of tasks (the descriptors) and it is a matter of whether or not one can carry out those tasks.

Whilst there maybe a small degree of overlap, DLA and ESA are essentially different benefits paid for different reasons.

Not really, ESA takes no account of your care needs but rather looks at your ability to perform certain activities, see our ESA Claim guides
