Hi,

You don't need to inform DWP about this. It would only apply if you were on a means-tested benefit or working and receiving over £85 per week whilst on IB.

Caveat : The £85 per week may have been increased, but I am so tired with all the heat, I've forgotten.

Best wishes.

Jim

Hi,

As you should be aware, we can not answer claims relating to individual cases.

However in general (and without getting into specifics) it maybe that your 'medical claim' (which is a little) vague maybe classed as compensation (if claiming for reasons connected to it).

Hence it maybe wise to advise the DWP, also reading the following regarding the DWP Compensation Recovery Unit:

my defibrillator had a faulty wire that fractured , which meant i had to have it replaced , there was an alert out on them , it went off by mistake , frightened the living daylights out of me. it's part of my treatment , not the reason i do not work , does that help ? cheers

Thanks Pete, I totally forgot about the Compensation Recovery Unit. This hot weather has knocked me for six. Thankfully, much cooler today.

Hope you have a nice weekend.
