I received a letter/form from BICS, I messed up the form and have since phoned 4x's for a replacement. Worried sick and a day before their deadline I got a form from local JC collected, its gone off completed with copies of whats needed. Still havent received their form?? I am worried sick to phone them to find out whats what. Im on IS IB HRM HRC. Picked up a motability car on the 4th May got their letter on 11th?? neighbours showing their disprooval &green with envy. could the BICS A2 form be an investigation into me following an accusation? I am honest and have done nothing wrong. How do I find out?

You can try contacting the Benefit Integrity Centre dealing with your case, they may tell you if a concern has been raised on your claim(s), but not who by.

If you are unable to phone yourself, they may accept a call from a companion provided you are present to answering the security question, failing that, you can write to them for an update.

I don't have the statistic to hand, but something like 95% of calls by the public, reporting claimants to the DWP, are unfounded or malicious.

Good luck

Try not to get too upset. I was investigated in 2006 and found to be innocent. I guess a malicious neighbour had reported me to the DWP. I was honest and open and after a short interview the two investigators relaxed and told me everything was OK. Unfortunately there are unkind and thoughtless people out there and no one knows what it it like to live with a disability until it may happen to them. Good luck and take it all in your stride.

Form A2 is an Income Support review form that is issued periodically to ascertain if you are receiving your correct entitlement?

It may or may not have anything to do with your Motability car and any associated disapproval attached to having this vehicle from your neighbours? It may be purely a coincidence that you have received the form so soon after taking delivery of the car. However, it may be in response to a malicious report from a (anonymous) third party, and as such the only way you can find out is to contact the office who sent you the form.

You can download an A1 Income Support form which is almost identical to form A2, and send it to the relevant office. The only exception is that at part 7 on page 20, it would be advisable to give details of all your capital even if it is below £5,500. If you choose to do so, it would be advisable to head the form in red ink to the effect that it is a substitute for form A2. This should suffice.

See:- A1 Income Support claim form.

Hello I just thought I would give you an update. It took just over 3 weeks when I received back my original documents that I supplied to the integrity centre. Next day a letter to say no change in my benefit award.
So I phoned them at that point and was told they looked into my claim as they had received a 'concerned' telephone call.
All I can say is if you are completely honest and trustworthy dont worry, just make sure you supply all the relevant info to 'them'. You will still be stressed beyond your wildest dreams but hang in there and have some faith.
thank you B & W
