What should I do ?

Im new here and hope this is ok to post but am in need of some advice really.

I put in DLA claim 0n 25th May and followed the advice given here to the letter. I have both physical and mental long term conditions and submitted lots of evidence from consultants etc. I was refused both care and mobility , Im really shocked to be honest as I need a wheelchair. When I rang earlier they said I should put in for reconsideration ? Is this right or should I just go for an appeal am confused, hope someone can advise.

DLA appeals

It is entirely up to you. However, we usually recommend going stragiht to appeal as a reconsideration will be carried out first by another Decision Maker. Everything is taking so long at the moment, at least you would not be holding up the process more than necessary.
