I called the benefit office again today to check on my claim, I pressed 3 for esa and the lady there said she couldnt see anything but would I like to get a call back from my local benefit office that deal with disabilities as they might know more, I said ok although I thought it was my local one but anyway I have just had the call back from esa and not sure what to think.
This lady took security details and said not to worry its not been processed yet but I have been put into the support group even though I've not been moved over yet my claim is being processed and I should receive a letter but could be a while as they have hundreds to go through.

I am not going to believe this until I get it in writing, I didnt ask for any esa85 or anything (if thats the right one)although if its true I'd like to know and I didnt ask her name. I was shocked to be honest and did have to ask if that meant they had made a decision yet and she said yes but it still had to be processed. I feel sick with worry and perhaps I shouldnt but I've read stuff before about wrong info being given out so I cant believe it till I have proof. I've not had a medical but they may have contacted my dr or consultants or community nurses but she said I had passed the medical even though I havent had one
I will stay worried till I get confirmation and if its right I'd like to know how long for

I too have heard of people being given incorrect advice over the phone. It's a shame that you can't relax and trust what you have been told, but I think you are wise to be cautious.

What do they mean that it still has to be processed?
She just said my money wont change at all during the process anyway and not to worry which is good but still no guarantee that I've really been put in support group

I thought when a decision had been made they phoned you to tell you? I've kept my phoneline as clear as possible during atos working hours up to 8.30pm at night and I never go out so they have a high chance of getting through but I've heard nothing

DWP are supposed to notify all decisions in writing.
