DLA PACK THROUGH POST TODAY was created by dragon
Have today received through the post, the dreaded dla pack, phoned them up to ask why i had got this pack,as i did not know that i was up for renewall, the last one i had was in 2002, after originally being awarded dla both high in 1995 after a medical, which was awarded for life, the one in2002 took the whole of dla off me in spite of my then doctors form saying that it would only get worse, not better, i appealled and won, and the award was changed from life to indefinately, i was told today that i was just one that had been picked out and not to worry if everything was still the same, they just wanted to check
i have got a dead foot which means that i wear a calipher to help stop me falling,me/cfu/ms they cannot make there minds up over the m/s as i have got all the symptons but do not show up like a christmas tree on the scan there words not mine. Also i have got arthritis in both legs, arms fingers and back, very painfull. This form does not say that it a renewable form, very strange, very different from the last one that i filled in, they want prescriptions list, copys of different things that social services have supplied, have even got to get a copy from hospital confirming that they make my shoes there
iam 64 next may and expect that i will have to go through the lot again ifor pip if i get to keep my dla
i am dreading the outcome of this now, what a shock to the system

Dragon

Can I ask you not to post in capitals, some members use screen readers and posting in this style makes it unreadable.

With regard the forms you have received.

It sounds like you have been picked as part of the Rights Payments Programme, see

The Right Payment Programme

You should treat this as a renewal of your claim and complete the forms in detail.

Have a look at our DLA Claim guides for more information on how to do so.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#dlaclaims

Good luck

Gordon

Only claimants of DLA 16 -64 years of age will be transferred from DLA to PIP from 2013 to 2016. You could be 65 years old before you are reassessed. If so, then you won't move to PIP, you'll stay on DLA.

See: Personal Independence Payment FAQ

Try not to worry, the Government are miles behind on PIP, so I'm pretty sure you'll be 65 before the DWP contact you, so your DLA award will remain, unless your condition(s) improve.

Hi Dragon I also have an indefinite DLA award and I received a Right Payment Programme form in March. Which was duly filled in and returned around the 26th March as of yet I haven't heard anything. I only know they've received it as I phoned them up, breaking my golden rule of phoning the DWP, at the start of this month. So I'm afraid you, it would seem, will have a fair few months wait.
