Requesting ESA85(A)? was created by francis1969
Hi to all. Am new (now fully paid up) member and have read forum details for a while. Have just completed extremely stressful migration and last week received call from DWP (2 weeks after submitting ESA50) informing me that I have passed ESA, no need for medical, placed in support group, for a period of 3 years! Told that all this information would be comfirmed in letter.

Letter received confirming in support group and payment details-my partner and I understand payment details and calculations and have read on here that 'The amounts on this page apply from July to November 2012' and that these dates appear to be for DWP administration.

Nowhere in letter does it confirm that I have been placed in support group for 3 (three) years!

I am aware that I can write off for ESA85A which should give details of length of time in support group, BUT I have also read that requesting this could trigger a further application being sent out from DWP!? Cannot grasp this for the life of me, or is this misinformation and I am safe requesting ESA85A?

Are there any other documents that I can request which will also give me full details of my result without endangering my present result? (would not be able to cope with another).

Many thanks for any reponses and for past 'background' assistance.

The DWP do not routinely notify the length of te award. You can find this out by requesting the ESA85A, which should be a safe enough process.

Thank you for your immediate response. Will the ESA85A also tell me the reason for being placed in support group? For example, due to mobility, or mental health, or under exemption say risk to myself or others?

I am a person who just needs and wants to know the full in and outs of their decision arrival!

Again many thanks but I am in no way wishing to appeal any decision...godforbid!

Merely want to find out confirmation I am in support group for 3 years and on what grounds they arrived at decision, and only if it is 'safe' to do so! (am even becoming anxious asking this question here in case others are reading it!)

You do not need to be appealing in order to request a copy of the paperwork associated with your claim.
