ESA85A medical report form was created by kered456
I am transfering from IS to ESA. Just received a ESA85A medical report form, which states: the person meets the criteria for having limited capability for work' I advise a return to work is unlikely for at least 2 years.
The available evidence from ESA50 med 3 and medical evidence has been used in this case. The available evidence suggests that the client has significant level of disability due to multiple physical and mental health problems, such that they would have limited capability for work.
Overall, there is insufficient information available to suggest client would satisfy the criteria for support group but it is likely they would score above threshold at the RWCA with a combination of descriptors.
The ESA50 Med 3 And medical evidence indicates the client is unlikely to return to work in the longer term.

I am confused, does this mean if I produce more info ie GP letter, that I may make the support group?

What is the RWCA?

I am afraid I have not seen the phrase "RWCA" before, nor has searching produced any result, however, given the context I believe it may be referring to the ESA medical.

The report certainly indicates that there is insufficient information to place you in the Support Group, this does not mean that providing more would change this decision, see

Qualifying for the Support Group

I assume that as you are in receipt of the ESA85A that a Decision has been made to place you in the WRAG, this being the case, your only way forward at this time would be to appeal this Decision, see

Is there any risk to challenging a decision?

How long do I have to appeal?

How to submit an appeal

Do I have to attend WFIs while I appeal?

Thankyou Gordon,
As I have a ESA85A will I still be called for a medical?

On the letter I received from DWP it states :I can ask for them to look at the decission again to see if it can be changed. There may be some facts we have overlooked or you may have more information which affects the decision. Is this different to an appeal?

It is possible to ask for a reconsideration without an appeal. However, the DWP have to carry out another recon if you then decide to appeal. With recons currently taking as long as 3-4 months, you can imagine how long the process would take if someone chose to ask for a reconsideration and then lodged an appeal!
