Agoraphobic needs some help please

Hello All,
First thank you so much for this site, it's been a lifeline to me over the years. I have been suffering with Extreme Anxiety and Agoraphobia for so many years now, i can't remember what life was like without it, but this site has helped so much to reduce the effects of the constant barrage of forms and medicals. I get so stressed everytime the forms and medicals come around it's just too much to bear sometimes. Without this site i can't imagine how i would cope at all.

I am now being transferred from IB onto ESA and need a little extra help if there is anyone there who can help me.

On the new form under the section 15 on Going out: there are two questions:
Can you leave home and go out to places you know if someone goes with you? Here they have a No box a Yes box and an it varies box.
Then there is a question, can you leave home on your own and go to places you don't know?
They only have a 'usually', 'not very often' and 'it varies' box.
There is no 'No' box here, and i can't do this so what do i do?

Also, please advice....
I am becoming obsessively distressed about the phone calls from DWP or Pathways to work. I just get so rattled with them calling whenever they choose, and when i have spoken with them i was so anxious that i couldn't take in what they were saying to me. I can't cope with this kind of irregularity, and become scared to answer the phone at all. Can i ask them to ONLY contact me by post. Has anybody actually succeeded in this?

Sorry... one more question if anyone can help with this it might ease some of my anxieties for a bit...

I am in the first stages of filling in the form and sending it back. And having read some of the info on this site i gather that people are being called up to Pathways interviews even before the decision is made about ESA.
From current experience, is that's what is happening now? Anyone?
What sort of time is it taking from application being sent in to interviews? is it days, weeks or months?
It's just that i'll be obsessing about the phone call, and how i'll get to the interview, or if they come to the house, how will i cope with that! I don't know if i want strangers in the only place i feel safe in the world. It's a horrible choice to have to make..... either are virtually impossible for me.
Anyhow, if anyone can give me real time estimates, that would at least take out some of the unknowns at this time.

Many thanks
MzEl

The tick boxes are explain in the ESA Mental Health Claim guide, however, if you do not believe they fit your circumstances, you can either add additional boxes or write "see below" and explain in more detail in the answer section, or additional pages, as necessary.

You can certainly ask the DWP to only contact you in writing, I would actually, in addition to putting this on the ESA50, contact them seperately, in writing explaining why you want them to do this.

I can't guarantee they will honour your request, but having formally asked them not to do so, if they continued this would be good reason to file a formal complaint.

I have to tell you for completeness, that there may be circumstances where it would be to your advantage to take a call from the DWP, and if asked to do so, you should always phone them at the earliest opportunity.

You are not required to attend WFIs until you are formally placed in the WRAG. You should not be requested to attend WFI before a Decision is made on your transfer or if you are placed in the Support Group.

If you are placed in the WRAG, then the first WFI tends to be about 4-6 weeks after the Decision is made.

I hope this explains eveything

Really feel for you. Was having the same problem last week, without the agoraphobia bit. ESA50 really is; the most unfit for purpose form ever!!!!

No idea whether we've done right or wrong but, running out of time, we gave up on their silly boxes and submitted a seven page statement in lieu of pages 7-17.

Best wishes, Margaret.
