Normally, War Pensions don't come within our remit as moderators, but as Gordon has stated we do have an expert welfare rights adviser with good experience of War Pensions. Regretfully, Pete was admitted to hospital last week and is likely to be offline for quite a while.

Not up on what and what isn't included on means tested benefits regarding the inclusion of war pension. Some of war pensions is included at the moment but Cameron and Duncan Smith have decreed that from next April no amount will be included when calculating a means tested benefit. This includes residential care as well.
As the mods have said not the remit of the forum but there are two versions of war pensions so to speak pre 2005 it's the older version post the forces compensation scheme comes into effect. If you are claiming three years after discharge liability is with the SPVA to prove they aren't accountable for injury or illness. After three years you have to prove they're liable.
