esa interview was created by bb1
Hello

I have been placed in WRAG for which I have appealed and asked for my case to be reviewed. I am still waiting to hear about this. In the meantime I have been told to attend an interview with a personal adviser in August at the Job centre. All of this is very stressful to me and has made me even more unwell, my question is can I ask my doctor to say that I am not well enough to attend this interview as it says it can last an hour and I wouldn't be able to to sit for that long? Would I need a sick note or just a letter? Will the DWP accept this?

Many thanks for your assistance

If your GP is willing to provide you with a letter, not a Fit Note, then this may help you to get this WFI deferred. They will need to be specific that attending the interview would pose a danger to your health.

Whether the WFI is deferred is at the discretion of the JC+ advisor handling your case. If the meeting is not cancelled, the your failing to attend can lead to the sanctioning of your benefit, although the DWP are required to take into account your condition(s) in these cases.
