Med 3 and Doctors submission re ESA was created by Rosered
Forgive me for bringing this up again as someone else has posted similar, but I too was told that when I was moved into the WRAG from IB that one of the criteria they used was the MED 3. I asked to be supplied with a statement of reasons so that I could appeal for the support group and all I received was the Decision Makers report outlining why she thought I didn't comply with various sections and she also mentions a MED 3.

My question is could they have asked your Doctor for a Med 3 without you knowledge as Having been ill since 2006 I don't ever remember getting a Med 3 just a Med 4.

Whilst it's not impossible, I think it unlikely that the DWP would request a Med-3 from your GP, especially, if you are being transferred from another benefit. A Med-3 establishes that the recipient is to be considered Unift for Work, a claimant being transferred from another benefit already has this status, also the certificate isn't intended to give any insight to the claimants condition(s), and therefore would have limited value as evidence.
