Hi im not sure if any of you have had this problem but i have had my medical for dla at home two weeks ago and i phoned the dwp last tuesday and they said to try on friday and you will be able to get through to the blackpool office that deals with your claim, well i phoned again friday and a woman that was quite sharp said i should not have been told this and you cannot go through to the department that is dealing with your claim.
I am angry as in the past i could go through to my incapacity office and dla office but it seems its a call centre now that can tell you anything.

As you say, the claimant now has to telephone the call centre rather than beng able to ring through directly. You can always ask for a 'call back' if you need to speak to anyone more senior.

I can only reply in respect of DLA. For first claims for DLA, they are dealt with by Disability Benefits Centres (DBC's) located throughout the UK.

However, once a claimant is awarded DLA, then their claims are dealt with by the Central DLA Unit located at Warbreck House in Blackpool, Tel 08457 123 456 or e-mail : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
